LGA’s Food & Shops Names Quest For The Best Winners |

The Food & Shops at LaGuardia Airport's Central Terminal Building have named the winners of its Quest for the Best employee recognition and incentive program.
This year’s annual award went to Sunglass Hut. Famous Famiglia was named most improved for food, and Borders was named most improved for retail. The Service Spirit Award went to InMotion Entertainment.
The program, launched in 2007, was developed to motivate and celebrate the service efforts of the stores of the Food & Shops. Stores earn points each quarter based on mystery shops, attendance at training programs, customer commendations and more. The team with the most points at the end of the quarter wins $500 and the right to display the trophy in the store until the next winner is chosen. For the annual award, which was Sunglass Hut this year, a $1,000 prize is given.
Winners were announced at a brunch Feb. 23 at Figs Restaurant hosted by MarketPlace Development, the retail development company that develops and manages the food and shops in the Central Terminal.
"The employees of the Food & Shops are an essential component to the success of our concessions program here at LaGuardia," says Lillian Tan, vice president/general manager of MarketPlace Development. “We developed the Quest for the Best program incentive program as a way to motivate our tenants and reward their continued hard work and dedication to make the Food & Shops one of the top airport concessions program in the nation."
